How many ways can you make grilled cheese?

I heard somewhere about a restaurant that served JUST grilled cheese. I really have to track down that restaurant. I could gladly live on grilled cheese. My favorite to date is one that I made myself one night for dinner and I actually surprised myself. I started with just a plain slice of cheese... the kind that comes in the wrapper, buttered two slices of bread, slapped on the slice of cheese, and slapped the other slice of  buttered bread on top. I know, I know... I shouldn't have buttered the bread, but hey, it tastes better than way. Oh wait, I forgot that I tossed on a handful of dried onion flakes... yes a good couple of rounded tablespoons and then put the bread on top. To finish, I buttered the other side of the bread, plunked it onto the frying pan (cast iron) and then buttered the second side.  IT WAS AMAZING!  I don't generally butter every side of the bread, but every once in a while, I have to do it like Mom did...   I wonder what little tricks that particular restaurant has come up with?? One of these days, I am going to track it down!

Cursed Candy Apples?

I think that I mentioned that I have this thing for candy apples. I have loved them since I was a kid. Now I'm thinking that these would be perfect to hand out to the parents or perhaps at a Halloween party that you might be hosting. They look pretty awesome to me... and yes, they do look cursed lol.

They make the old fashioned caramel apples pale by comparison... not that I would turn one down!! But these are about as creepy as you can get!

I think that I began to love quotes when I began to thumb through my mom's Women's Day magazines. They always devoted an entire page to quotes that were sent in by their readers. They were so thought provoking. I always looked forward to reading them.

Saturday

Homemade Caramel Apples

I am a huge fan of candy apples... of any sort. The gourmet versions take them to a whole new level, but the old fashioned caramel versions are perfect for Halloween especially when the are rolled or sprinkled with nuts!!!

And did you notice the measuring cups?? They are almost antiques lol. They are old Tupperware measuring cups. And why do I know this?? I own the exact same cups... colour and all!! I bought them in the mid seventies! Antiques to a lot of the kids out there lol!!

Healthy School Lunch Principles - Weelicious

I don't make kid's lunches anymore, but I do have to make my own and all the rules still apply. Okay, I might not use the melon baller, but I like the fact that I have four categories to fill for my own lunch. There was a time when I simply slathered some peanut butter on some toast and I was done. While that's not really all that bad, I ignored the fruit and veggies part of my lunch. Now, I have everything set aside so everything is at my fingertips and my lunches are pretty darn good if I do say so myself ;)

Friday

Milk and Chocolate Chip Cookie Shots

I have a grown up brother who is a big kid at heart and I'm thinking of making a batch of these for Christmas. He will likely say that a man doesn't eat cookies and drink milk, but I know my brother lol. He will love these!

3 Ingredient Cookies in 3 Minutes

Friday's are cookie day and this is the first of three recipes that I have picked out for you! The first one has just three ingredients. It doesn't get easier than that but feel free to add whatever else you want to make the recipe... yours. :)

Thursday

Creamy Rice Pudding ~ Arroz Con Leche

Yup... still easy but the second part of the recipe takes it to a whole new level. Personally, I would be happy with it after the first stage. Just watch the video and you will know exactly where I will be stopping. And, because I'm pre-diabetic and I am the one who will be eating all of this lol, I would probably reduce the sugar to 1/4 of a cup instead of the half cup. After all of these years, a little sugar goes a long way for me. For the rest of you, go with the half a cup of sugar and the whipping cream. ;)

Monday

Chilli CheeseToast - Quick and Easy Breakfast Snacks

Personally, this would be a little too heavy as a breakfast dish, but it would be perfect for lunch! This must also be an English lunch dish, because my husband has made something similar but without the tomatoes, and all the other ingredients that Madhura has included. I think that I'm definitely going to

try her recipe!!  Yeah, I am solely a cold cereal kind of girl lol!

Crockpot Meals Challenge- 5 Minutes or Less Meals! Super Easy and super...

Five minutes or less and yes, this woman can do it. The first dinner she starts out with had sausage... we don't eat meat, but we have found an awesome vegetarian sausage that we can use. So, we are ready to go. Check it out. I think that you will like this. And because I will have time left over, I can make my awesome baking soda biscuits to go with it. Don't you just love EASY!!!

Saturday

Slow Cooker Vegetarian Lentil Stew

I was kind of worried until the "kitchen witch" mentioned the fact that you could use vegetable stock. We have a powdered version that we use for everything and takes up very little room in the pantry. Yes, I have thought of making our own and then freezing, but our fridge is simply too small. Next house... BIGGER FREEZER. :)

And I really do like the biscuit idea!!
