How to Make Valentines Cookies From Polymer Clay

I love the idea of making these little cookies into charms, but I was also thinking that if you made regular sized cookies, they would look really cute sitting on a plate under a glass cake preserver.

Monday

Apple Pie in a Paper Bag.

You will need:
One unbaked 9" pie shell

Apple Pie Filling:
5-6 apples, peeled and cut in 3/4" cubes
Juice of one lemon
2    tbsp. flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Crumble Topping:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup soft butter

* Set oven to 450 degrees.

*Toss together the apple slices, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice and flour and then arrange in an unbaked pie shell. Combine the crumble ingredients together and work it with your fingers until you have small "nuggets". Sprinkle the crumble nuggets on top of the apples.

*Take the prepared but unbaked pie and slip it  into a brown paper bag and staple it shut.  Place on a cookie sheet and put into a 450 degree oven and bake for about an hour.

*Be extremely careful when you remove the bag from the oven. It will need to be carefully opened so that the steam can escape.

KaiserCast Heart Mini-Bundform Pan

The perfect size pan for just two... or maybe four if the servings are small. Hey... I like the fact that you could get away with just a dusting of icing sugar and your cake would look awesome. Any flavor would work, but suddenly I'm thinking of the Red Velvet Cake!
