I can't decide what I would use this bowl for, but it is gorgeous! I wonder what it would look like filled with ice cubes... maybe sitting in another bowl of ice... just thinking off the top of my head. ;) It's one of those items that you know that you really don't need... but it is just so gorgeous! Image by ex.libris via FlickrAre you feeling lucky? If so, today could be your day! The Domestic Mama has a contest and all you have to do is answer a question by September 24th. I would love to enter but I'm moving next week and will probably be staying in a hotel for a month or so until we find somewhere to live. Don't you just love it when your hubby gets transferred. Knew that it was a possibility, but the house just wouldn't sell and then we hooked up with a new real estate agent who staged our house and then wham... our house sold in two weeks. It was exciting for a little while but now, its getting down to the wire and we don't have anywhere to live.
Anyway... have fun with the contest! Oh, the prize consists of a cookbook, a magnet and a surprise food item that can be shipped in the mail! I have a feeling that you are going to like this Michelle's blog!

Image via WikipediaIt seems that blueberries are on the rise when it comes to healthy snacks. Actually it was my husband's birthday yesterday and we made it one gorgeous chocolate cake, but we served it with fresh strawberries and fresh blueberries. To be honest, I think that I ate more fruit than I did berries, but don't hold me to it for today. That cake is looking awfully good!

Is it ever too early to start making cool Halloween cookies? lol... don't think so either. And the nice thing about it is the fact that any old recipe will do.
Image via WikipediaAs most of you know by now, we have until next Wednesday to live in this house. Actually, the movers arrive on Monday to start sorting things out so we pretty much have until the weekend to have the house to ourselves. And that means that we are trying to clear out what's in the freezer because it's going to be kind of hard to take it all with us. It also means that our meals are pretty creative at the moment. Reminds me of when I was a kid and mom would take us out shopping for the day. Dad would stay home and make dinner and it was always "whatever he could find in the fridge". Funny thing was... it ALWAYS tasted good. I have no idea how he did it, but he pulled it off!
Okay, you might not leave this out on the counter all year round, but it does seem to work quite nicely into the Halloween decorating spirit lol...

I have a Lazy Susan on our kitchen table and I don't know what we would do without it, but I never heard of one that kept the food warm too! Makes sense for those kids who never seem to arrive home in time for dinner. Life is nuts!
